Bearings are a term associated with machinery parts. It is an essential part in machines. It’s a device that is used to control the movement of two parts. Huge machines that are used for rolling or other work that used for “rolling” purpose all have bearings. Bearings differ in shape and size, as they can be classified by their operating system.

In other words, all machine parts that involve rotation, needs bearing. Bearing is also used to reduce the friction as it helps in smooth working of the machine.

Now according to work style this bearing can be classified. Ball bearing, roller bearing, needle bearing, and the shaft bearing-these are the commonly used bearings that are needed in our daily work that is the machines that we tend to use or see in our daily life.

Let us now discuss them in details.

Ball Bearing

Ball Bearing is a very commonly used bearing that we use in our daily life. As the name suggests it has balls that move in a motion helping the machine to work. The commonly used ball bearings can be found in cycles. The paddle of the cycle has ball bearings which enable it to move round ways. Now these ball bearings are quite effective if properly lubricated. Lubrication helps in proper functioning of the balls. the friction is reduced and hence the machine works excellently well.

Lack of proper lubrication can result in wear and tear. Rust can cause its difunctioning. Its longevity can come to a halt. Ball bearings are very common and less expensive. The costs of the balls are comparatively low and hence economically quite affordable.

Roll Bearings

Roll Bearings are of different type especially in shape and size. They are cylinder in shape, round cylinders to be precise. The cylinders that are used in this kind of bearing are greater in length, usually greater than the diameter. This type has the capacity of doing much higher and heavier work than the ball bearing. Its round in shape and the elements are fitted in between the two pieces.

They are usually used to do heavy work, unlike ball bearing that are used in mainly household machinery things, roller bearings are used in factories, where “rolling” machines are used.

Needle Bearing

Needle Bearing is somewhat like the roll bearings. Here also cylinders are used but they are long and thin. The hole is smaller than the outer diameter. It allows working and functioning well.
